Advertisement and endorsement deals are not just about public connect anymore. They also involve huge monies when it comes to celebrities endorsing their products.

If that wasn’t enough, actors have been vying to get the best deals in their kitty, some amounting to a couple of crores. In the current scenario, the older stars continue to hold fort, but the gap between them and the younger stars is slowly decreasing.
If actor Ranbir Kapoor is going from strength to strength, his contemporary, actress Anushka Sharma apparently is much in demand in the ad-world, say industry insiders.
Affirming that Anushka is getting to be a popular name in the brand race, brand strategist, Harish Bijoor, however, adds it’ll take her some time to reach the same league of A-listers like actors Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
“Anushka is one of the new hottest faces in terms of brands. She has a very vivacious face, but she’s yet to be associated with big-league brand. Her number will surely increase over a period of time but as of now. Priyanka is still reigning. She is not only popular, but also has a lot of brands. Kareena has recently signed a couple of new brands, but they are still to be aired. Katrina Kaif lags behind in the race currently,” he informs.
There has apparently been a change in the heirarchy even when it comes to B-Town men. The new name leading from the top is actor Salman Khan. Bijoor says, “When it comes to endorsements, they are divided in two categories — for men, it is the number of hits and for women, the fresh face quotient. Salman is a brand in himself and is definitely one of the names on the top.”
Ad filmmaker, Kunal Shivdasani states that one actor to watch out for in the ad-race is actor Deepika Padukone. “Deepika’s already quite popular in the endorsement circuit. She has great potential to be the face of tomorrow. And among the male actors, it’s Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor who are quite in demand,” he says.
Another trade analyst elaborates, “Actors who have been around for a while, will never lack endorsements coming their way. However, after a point of time, it depends on the fate of their films at box office. Saif Ali Khan has some of the highest number of advertisements, but there are actors who get paid much more for what they endorse. It really depends on how popular you are with the audience.”
